Prof. Zhongfa ZhouGuizhou Normal University(Level II Professor, Core Expert in Guizhou Province, Dean of the School of Geography and Environmental Science and Dean of the Karst Research Institute) He is the head of the National Engineering Technology Research Center for Karst Rocky Desertification Prevention and Control, co-director of the Field Scientific Observation Research Station affiliated with the Ministry of Natural Resources, director of the Cultivation Base of the National Key Laboratory for Karst Mountain Ecological Environment, and director of the Guizhou Branch of the National Remote Sensing Center. He is also the leader of the Guizhou Normal University's Geography Teacher Team, which is one of the first "National Model Teacher Teams in the Style of Huang Danian," and was recognized as an advanced worker in the national education system in 2024. Additionally, he serves as the head of the National First-Class Undergraduate Program in "Geographic Science" and the National First-Class Course in "Physical Geography." Prof. Baozhang ChenChinese Academy of Sciences Professor Chen Baozhang is a researcher at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a professor at the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, where he also supervises doctoral students. He has previously held positions as a collaborative researcher at the University of Toronto and the University of British Columbia in Canada, as well as a professorship at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. In 2009, he was selected to return to China under the Chinese Academy of Sciences' "Hundred Talents Program" for outstanding researchers. Professor Chen has long been dedicated to Environmental Remote Sensing,the development and optimization of surface Earth system models, data-model assimilation, research on carbon cycle and climate change interactions, and studies on spatial scale transfer technologies. His efforts have continually pushed the boundaries of academic research, leading to significant original achievements. He has led and completed over ten research projects, including those funded by Canada’s NSERC, CFCAS, China’s National Natural Science Foundation (general and key projects), as well as national major projects such as the 973, 863 Programs, major technological support projects, and key R&D programs. He has published 126 SCI papers in journals like Nature Communications and Science Bulletin, holds six authorized national invention patents as the lead inventor, and has received numerous awards, including the Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in Natural Resources (2024, ranked first), the Second Prize for Technological Advancement in Environmental Protection (2019, ranked sixth), the 3rd China Youth Geoscience Award (1995), the IET Award for Outstanding Graduate Students from the International Engineering Society, and Canada’s NSERC CGS Scholarship, among over 20 academic honors.
